2025 Programming - A Year of Colour and Design

We are thrilled to present an exciting year centered around our theme, “2025 - A Year of Colour and Design.” This year, we will explore a vibrant palette, celebrate our creativity, and foster community spirit through our monthly activities and projects.

Monthly Colour Theme

Each month, we will highlight a specific colour from our overarching palette. These colours have been predetermined but will be randomly selected each month to keep things fresh and exciting.

Block of the Month

We'll present a block each month designed by one of our members. Please find details for submission below.

Calling All Designers:

Join Us in Creating the 2025 BOM Quilt!

Dear CGY Guild Members,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new project for 2025: the CGY Guild Sampler Quilt! We invite you to contribute by designing one or more 12-inch block patterns. These blocks will be combined to create a stunning Modern Block of the Month Sampler Quilt, showcasing our collective creativity and talent.

Theme: 2025 – A Year of Colour and Design

We are excited to reveal that in 2025, the guild will emphasise celebrating the dynamic range of colours and the creativity in design. We encourage you to let your imagination run wild and infuse your blocks with the spirit of this theme. Guidelines for Block Patterns

  • Each block should measure 12 ½ inch unfinished (12 inches square finished).

  • Ensure your design includes clear instructions that newer quilters can follow.

  • Blocks will have a feature colour (which will be represented by the colour of the month) and may also include Black, White or Grey.

  • No limits on number of submissions

  • Please submit your block patterns by December 19, 2024.

Submission Details

Please send your block patterns along with any necessary instructions and links to CalgaryMQG@gmail.com. We look forward to seeing your beautiful creations and compiling them into a spectacular quilt that represents our guild's talent and passion for quilting.
